Hot water bath is recommended for aerosol quality check as it could detect the aerosol leakage. The water is heated to 55℃ and aerosol cans will be soaked into water for 3 to 5 minutes for leakage detection.

The first batch of hot water bath which we’ve developed for aerosol leakage detection was magnetic type water bath leakage detection machine. It is suitable for inspection or testing of small or medium batch of aerosol products. There are permanent magnet and automatic temperature control installed at the bottom of the leak detection machine tank to make the performing safe and reliable and easy to use. There’s also automatic drying device on the machine. It is convenient for tinplate aerosol can detecting.

Since aluminum cans are not affected by magnetic type water bath leakage detection machine, without special arrangements they would fall over on the inclines and also become “floaters.” If they happened to remain near the inlet of hot water, they could become deformed from excessive internal pressure. One popular solution is to fit a special puck around the bottom of each can. The pucks have a large steel washer in the bottom. The inner wall has a few tangential wing fittings, designed to hold the can firmly, but without marring the surface finish. Pucks are needed for each can diameter. In production, the empty cans are passed through a “pucker” device that attaches the pucks. Later, the finished aerosols go through a “de-pucker” that removes the pucks, after which they are conveyed back to the beginning of the line for recycling.

That is the reason we’ve developed plastic clip hot water bath. The working principle is that plastic clips fasten to can valve and hold them firmly in place as they pass through the water. This type of water bath leakage detection machine becomes the most common and best selling model as it could work on both tinplate can and aluminum can. It is also flexible to work on different can diameters as we only have to change the inlet screw auger and star wheel.
